Dr. Truna When just over 5 years old, Truna begins taking toys apart to put them back together again in new ways. He would then sort them out in boxes under his bed. Sometimes he left the electric pieces connected to the batteries and they would come alive. Later, it is these childhood experiments, that would form a big part of his experiments in future electronic inventions. Before starting his solo path as Truna, the Valencian Andrés Blasco participated from a young age in diverse musical projects. In the 80’s, he forms part of the 80’s musical group, Carmina Burana for ten years. While working with this group for ten years, he is actively publishing with different record companies and performs numerous concerts in Spain and Europe (Bienal de Arte, 1990 – Tesalónica, Greece). At this time, his music involves a more personal musical language, using collage, and then editing the CD “Granero Responde Ovejas” (CD, Por Caridad, 1994) and includes several tours through Spain and France. Later, he forms part of the group Fitzcarraldo, before moving to Belgium for four years. During his stay in Belgium, he becomes an auto-luthier and plays his electronic inventions and sound sculptures with composed music. He has then dedicated himself entirely to the creation of new instruments, musical experimentation and the creation of electronic musical sculptures . These sculptures have appeared in art exhibitions which he has used as interactive installations with an invitation for the public to participate by playing the instruments. These new instruments work as sonorous sculptures which Truna also uses in his performances which are a mix Futurism and Pataphysics. His musical facet extends into other artistic areas such as dance companies and cinema, and in which he creates pieces requested by different artists as well as for exhibitions.
